Russian butter cookie

2 1/4 cups sifted flour         [ 1 1/8 ]
1/4 cup powdered sugar [ 1/8 ]
1 cup butter, softened          [ 1/3 ]
1 tsp salt                                 [ 1/2 ]
3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans  [ 1/8 ]
1 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 400 deegre.
Beat well the butter and sugar together.
Blend in the remaining ingredients.
Chill for several hours or overnight.
Shape/roll into 1 inch balls.
Bake at 400 deegre for 11 to 12 minutes.
